Handwritten maths to LaTeX
LatexNotes turns handwritten mathematics into compilable LaTeX. Photograph a page
or upload a PDF of handwritten maths (for example exported from GoodNotes) and get
back typeset LaTeX, with hand-drawn graphs recreated as editable TikZ and pgfplots,
plus a real compiled PDF. You can draw and annotate on your notes, box a patch of handwriting
to turn it into typeset LaTeX, transcribe a whole note in the background, or import a module's
PDFs straight from Blackboard with the Chrome extension. You can try your first 5 pages free
with no account, or create a free account for a monthly page allowance at no cost.
How it works
- Bring your notes: export a page of handwritten maths as a PDF and upload it.
- Transcribe to LaTeX: every page becomes compilable LaTeX, with graphs redrawn as editable TikZ and pgfplots.
- Edit, compile, export: refine the source in an in-browser editor, recompile to a typeset PDF, or open it in Overleaf.
Features
- Graphs recreated as editable TikZ and pgfplots, not screenshots
- Real server-side pdflatex build returns a typeset PDF
- In-browser LaTeX editor with one-click recompile
- Draw on notes with a pen, Apple Pencil or mouse, and box handwriting to convert it to LaTeX in place
- Transcribe a whole handwritten note in the background; start from blank plain, dotted or squared paper
- Import course PDFs from Blackboard with the Chrome extension, mirroring the module's folder structure
- Side-by-side comparison with your original handwriting
- Notes saved to your account; optional two-factor authentication
